Merc just stole my sneeze! I was about to sneeze and she made some bizarre random noise that completely took my attention and my sneeze evaporated. I'm disappointed, I was really looking forward to that sneeze (she can't stop laughing at my misfortune )

aap's mum and I have been chatting quite a bit recently. She's had another sad event in her life and I've been worried about her. She was upset again yesterday but later in the conversation we managed to have a giggle about her latest mishap in which she slipped and landed on her store of toilet rolls which usefully broke her fall She's 80 in a couple of weeks. I've had a nice gift made for her, a porcelain Scottie dog with a lavender tie round its neck, she adores dogs and purple is her favourite colour so I know she'll love it. She's pretty much on her own now in terms of family and said she'd not expecting much so it'll be something really nice for her to look forward to opening.

I am obsessed with my step count... 38 days ago I met my step target of around 9000 steps, my watch increases the next day's target a little if I only just meet it and a lot if I really excel. It has slowly increased and now after meeting it for 38 days my target today is 17730...
I cant stop now and I am already going running, walking and cardio training (on the rebounder for more steps) every day since it went over 15000...
My watch has now set me a 60 day challenge after meeting the 10 day and 30 day challenges!!

^ This is why I don't have any device that could measure my steps! I'd become obsessive and I suspect it would show that my baseline is about 30,000 a day which would make me panic (but not slow down )

aap's mum just rang, she's been in hospital for a week in extreme pain with her arthritis. It must have been bad as she *never* complains. Apparently the GP saw her and basically ordered her to go in, she was all for going home and taking paracetamol. They've discovered it's worse than they thought and she probably needs quite a lot of major surgery. I've told her before that she can give my name as next of kin if she likes, she always says she doesn't want to put on me, I have kept telling her I don't mind and really want to help. Apparently she did give my name to the hospital which I'm really pleased about. I wish I lived nearer to her. She was asking about my Dad and his surgery, she's so decent. Nearly 80 and on masses of morphine and still manages to think of others. And also giggle like a schoolgirl.
