The more observant will have noticed that I've had to remove the X room. I was contacted by ProBoards to say it breaches their terms and conditions. No adult material is allowed on ProBoards. I wouldn't have thought that anyone actually looked at it and thought that any of the content was adult in nature as it's mostly been a piss-take, so I'm assuming they have some sort of word-matching software that highlights these things. It was a case of lose that section or lose the whole BR so I deleted it. Unfortunately, this sort of issue goes with using the free platforms, as they have to be more cautious than if the forum was self-hosted, so I'm sad to say that moving to one of the other free platforms wouldn't resolve the issue. They'll be keeping an eye on us for a bit, so can I ask people to be a little careful what they post in all threads till we fall out of their spotlight. www.proboards.com/community_guidelines(so, no plotting to overthrow any governments either, please )

I won't miss the That Letter-rated thread much.
I wonder if we could also do away with the H&A section and replace it with a PULL YOURSELVES TOGETHER banner.

Haha... my pm box is saying that many of you are actually glad to see it go. I always thought it was naff myself. I'm assuming it was the title that drew attention to it rather than the content, but only time will tell if this is going to be an issue. Another pro-board I was on for a while had a banned word list with automatic replacements, and while that is technically possible here, I really don't want to go down that route unless it's the only way to save the board.

As far as I remember the room that comes between W and Y was only created in the first place in an attempt to stop Nat trashing the whole room. Before the days when people could get banned presumably Edited just in case!

Yep, sweary-words, starting at the level of bitch (but that was their choice not imposed by pro-boards as far as I know).
I think it has been the title of the section that's flagged us up, to be honest, but if I have any more warnings from them I'll ask for some guidance. Might be an idea to treat the whole board as if you were trying to get past worksafe filters though, at least till we have a better idea of what's acceptable to pro-boards.

i've read in the support forum that Hidden Boards can be accomplished. Meaning only those who are logged on and registered can read them. I don't know if you could get around it that way but i also won't miss the you know what room either.

It's their terms of service for all hosted content.

will the forum be culled like the last one? My thinking at the moment is that there won't be a need. The advantage of using a specialist platform like pro-boards should be that it's scalable. If, however, we get down the line and discover the board slows down beyond a certain level of content, then I'll reassess.

Interesting. I will contain myself and regulate my use of the English vocabulary. It will be hard. Very hard.

This was a dirty *ahem* thread. Sounds like it won't work here. . . . Damn!
