Just wondered what everyone's thoughts are on 2020...
Things you realised about yourself, others, the world... Things you do that you never thought you would... What has changed you, others... What don't you do anymore... Things you miss... Anything else...

Since lockdown I speak/video to my mum and daughters everyday it used to be a few times a week, the calls are longer as well but I have only seen them in real life 4 times since February.
I also haven't worn a suit for almost 8 months that in the longest in over 20 years! And I like it and not sure I will go back... smart casual is my future now !!

I have found I don't mind lockdown as much as I thought I would, I think it's because it's necessary. I was practically a hermit before, I could go most of the week without leaving the house so it's not so different. What I don't like is feeling trapped, and because this time there won't be shielding I feel ok about it (because if there was I'd be shielding again because of starting steroids) I haven't seen or talked to people I thought I'd always be friends with I have had periods of great sadness and loss this year - all related to COVID directly or indirectly - but I am getting through it so I am starting to realise I am more resilient than I gave myself credit for. What I miss most is a particular fireworks display I've attended nearly every year since being a small child (would have been yesterday). Second on the list is going out for meals regularly. Third is going out to concerts or comedy gigs. We usually have a couple of nights out a month. I am fortunate that we are both working, but we still haven't done all of the things around the house that need time so we will probably never do them!

Last week on the Jeremy vine show he was asking people to call or write in with one positive thing that had happened to them during lockdown... I thought this was a really good idea as well as motivating and up lifting it was a feel good programme

Its certainly been an odd year.
I've been fine with lockdown. I've worked all the way through it from home so have maintained that routine and I've enjoyed spending time with M and the kids. It's been quite familial which isn't something I've really had before.
I've pined for our Scotland holidays though, actually should be on one now! I'd booked a cabin with a hot tub goddammit.
I'm also really missing Starbucks. Eggnog latte season but I'm not of a mind to risk the crowds.
I also quit smoking and have apparently not smoked over 2300 fags and saved a grand. That's quite an eye opener.
Apart from that, I'm looking forward to the vaccine and getting out like we used to, both on holiday and on weekend trips.
